Cricket

Cricket is a bat-and-ball team sport played between two teams, typically consisting of eleven players each. The game is played on a circular or oval-shaped field with a 22-yard long rectangular pitch at its center. One team bats, attempting to score runs by hitting a ball bowled at them with a bat, while the opposing team fields and tries to dismiss the batsmen. Points are scored when the batsmen run between the wickets after hitting the ball or by hitting the ball over the boundary for four or six runs.

Cricket has various formats, including Test matches, One Day Internationals (ODIs), and Twenty20 (T20) matches. The objective is to score more runs than the opposing team. Players are skilled in various roles, including batting, bowling, and fielding, each requiring specialized techniques and strategies. Cricket is governed by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and has a global following, particularly in countries like India, England, Australia, and Pakistan. The sport combines elements of athleticism, strategy, and skill, making it a popular and compelling game worldwide.
