Statistics

Statistics is the branch of mathematics that deals with the collection, analysis, interpretation, presentation, and organization of data. It provides tools and methodologies for extracting meaningful insights from numerical information and for making informed decisions based on that data. Statistics helps in summarizing and describing the characteristics of data sets (descriptive statistics) and in drawing conclusions or making inferences about populations based on sample data (inferential statistics). Key concepts in statistics include measures of central tendency (such as mean, median, and mode), measures of variability (such as range, variance, and standard deviation), probability distributions, hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and statistical significance. Statistics is widely used across various fields, including economics, psychology, medicine, and social sciences, to support research and policy-making.
